PILATES

Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s as a unique form of dynamic, integrated core exercises that are still used extensively today by a very wide range of the population, from pro-athletes, to active agers, and most certainly for anyone who has suffered an injury as a form of re-habilitation and recovery.

Pilates incorporates efficiency of movement, concentration, precision, breath, and control of the body in a safe, yet fully integrated manner of training the body, preparing it for even more dynamic sports like tennis and golf and life, as it improves how you move and use your body for everyday functional activities

Pilates works to strength these movement patterns in a safe and controlled manner enabling players to improve their biomechanics for highly dynamic sports such as gold and tennis, skiing, and daily life activities, allowing for refinement of these tendencies. The results are better personal biomechanics and a stronger more supple body and mind.

What Can Pilates Do for You:

  •  Improves rotational and linear biomechanics: Pilates is about moving well in anything you do.

  •  Increases range of motion: It trains the right muscles to co-recruit, leading to more accurate, powerful kinetic sequencing with less chance of injury.

  •  Builds deep core strength and stability: allowing you to properly recruit your intrinsic core/hip/shoulder stabilizer muscles

  •  Increases flexibility and range of motion and balance in all areas of the body

  •  Helps with preventing injuries and healing from injuries dramatically
